Tuscan
Inn
San
Francisco - Fisherman's Wharf

Very
Convenient Location
A unique, European style motel from Bill Kimpton, the San Francisco
quality hotelier. The handsome rooms are richly furnished and include
modem ports, cable television and movies.Guests are welcomed in
a beautiful Italianate lobby with evening wine by the lobby's fireplace.
The Cafe Pescatore restaurant at the hotel is a convenient stop
for a seafood meal. Typical rates are around $140.
Our inspection of the Tuscan Inn was quite positive.
The hotel is classy with good service, and in a great location near
a large grocery store and all wharf attractions. At Fisherman's
Wharf, this hotel is a great choice. <editor>

Tuscan
Inn's Sitting Room
Robin
writes , "Your information on the
site was fantastic! We took many suggestions from the site and discounts
as well. We stayed at the Tuscan Inn while we were there. It was
nice, but the daytime staff was efficient, although not very friendly.
The night staff was wonderful, pleasant, and very helpful; making
up for the day crew. The concierge was not particularly helpful,
and only provided very "surface" information that you
could have read from the brochure chest by the elevators. She will
however make reservations for you to go to Alcatraz, but expect
attitude. "
Birgit
writes , "We have two small children
(2, 4 years) an we had a great time at the Best
Western Tuscan Inn. We had two connecting
rooms at $119 each (January). All kid's attractions
were in walking distance, so that we didn't need a car. The cable
car turn-around point is located right behind the hotel.
The closest attraction is only one block away. The hotel is
first class, friendly first class! The concierge is very helpful.
We even got a late check out by three o'clock withour paying more!
The hotel has a nice view of
Coit Tower and if you look out of the
window you can see the Bay. It was fairly quiet an not crowded at
all at this time of the year. We loved it!"
Cindy was
not fully satisfied , "We were told that
the only room they had was $240 for the first night, and $270.00
for the next two nights. We assumed, based on the price, that
this was a deluxe room. The room was not deluxe in any way.
It was extremely small; so small, in fact that when the bathroom
door was opened, it almost hit the bed. Also, the room was
on Northpoint, and the noise was bad. The window had been
taped with silver duct tape, possibly to cut down on noise.
The Tuscan was a definite let down..."
