Commodore
Hotel
San
Francisco Review

The Commodore is a classic Art Deco structure built in the
1920's. Very hip, very modern, & very trendy.
The hotel has 113 rooms remodeled in contemporary furnishings. Every
guestroom features large walk-in closets, full tub and shower, cable
TV, and a phone system with dataport. Andy's rating = "B".

writes in October 2000, "The Commodore was
nice--it was a little trendy, a little artsy you know--just a little
I must stress. It was clean and simple. I must say that my
expectations were pretty high. Nonetheless, i was decently
pleased--the Titanic cafe was cool for breakfast. The breakfasts
are big and served with a smile. The orange juice was fresh
squeezed and the cups for coffee. The omlettes were simply
gigantic and quite fresh. The Red Room seemed to be a hip
spot because it had a crowd of hip looking folks and the martinis
looked delicious. Another good thing-- they checked my I.D.
at the Red Room, which totally made my day and stay :) I'd
stay there again."

writes in January 1998, "I never felt unsafe near
the Commodore. The location was actually great as it was very close
to Union Square and the cable cars. As well, the hotel itself was
nice. I stayed on the top floor which has art-deco furnishings similar
to that of the lobby. The staff was always very friendly and helpful.
I had breakfast in the Titanic Cafe and drinks in the Red room lounge;
both are attached to the hotel itself. In all, the $99 per night
(plus tax, of course) was well worth it. Should I find myself in
San Francisco again, I will be at the Commodore."
