The Maxwell is being renovated in a 1940's style with 150 rooms near the theater district. The hotel is a collaboration between a popular hotel owner and restaurant owner. It's a promising new entrant in the Union Square area. S.E. writes, "Loved the Maxwell. Still
being renovated, but all in all a great little hotel, very convenient
to lots of stuff. " Andy's Rating = "B"
Travelers write that rooms are smaller and the hotel is older. It has some unique art deco style and is located conveniently to BART subway transportation. The hotel is very popular for its value in this area.
